I am fast approaching the third anniversary of the launch of ‘Accidental Icon’. Sitting down to prepare this post I must admit that for the very first time I am absolutely stuck. Usually the moment I post the photo the words seem to find their way into my flying fingertips and appear on the page. My body has been moving so fast, my brain has not had time to catch up. Usually it is the other way around.  Most of all I don’t want to feel anxious about this today.
Because you are who you are, my wonderful internet friends, I know you won’t mind to0 much about me being honest, sitting a moment and accepting where I am at today:  ” I’m stuck”.
What to you do to get inspired when you are “stuck”?
Who amongst us does not get stuck from time to time? I appreciate your honesty. When I’m stuck I take to the outdoors, walk around and just let my mind wander. Your blog is always an inspiration even when you’re stuck!

Stuck — the uncelebrated stage of creative process. I adapted a Maya Angelou practice of taking a break from all external stimuli — phone, computer, TV, clock/watch, even books. I relax into my body: eat when hungry, take a nap, take a walk, whatever. I’m often amazed by the insights and ideas that emerge. Thanks for the question and your authenticity.

"Stuck" affects us all. I take my time, regroup, and eventually move on. Sometimes this includes meditation or plain old "me time". Allowing oneself the occasional mental health day is great for the soul!
Siempre es bueno hacer como los italianos: " piano , piano", despacio , despacio o lo que es lo mismo: un paron . El tiempo lo decide nuestra propio CUERPO.

"Stuck" or hitting a pause button – we all need to recharge to get our creative juices flowing again. After a bit, new ideas will come 🙂

I go into my studio and play with fabrics and patterns—
Your readers’ comments are right on. While my deep respect for "the gap" in my creative process doesn’t save me from discomfort, it does allow me to listen and wait for what wants to arise from the space.
rest.

I equate "stuck" with boredom. Usually a new experience, a new inspiration will resolve the issue. The need to always top our previous effort is a sure fire recipe for burnout. I love your post today. The natural sophistication comes through!

I let myself be stuck until I feel "it" – getting energy and enthusiasm, I can’t manage my being stuck other way, it gives no fruits.

Anyone with a keyboard runs the risk of getting stuck. (I’m sure that those who wrote with pens, or quills, or carefully chosen rocks, ran similar risks.) It’s a temporary thing. Sometimes you have to look away from something for a little while before you refocus. You’ll be all right. This isn’t the end of the world; it’s not even the end of the day yet.

Like you, my writing follows my photos. But stuck happens. At times I go with it and, as an exercise, try and write the worst horrible garbage post I possibly can in exasperation. Sometimes it work; sometimes not. Often I get a big laugh from it which loosens things up. Until I’m back in form, I let the photos take centre stage. And rest.

Such a timely post from you Lyn….
I have just had surgery and find myself lying here, recovering, thinking about all the other possibilities in my life I have put on hold to run my small Marketing Agency.
I am a creative – but that has not been in evidence lately!
I have read a few other posts from you recently in the last 2 days.
You were " throwing out the 2-5 year Plans" and boldly experimenting with tangerine.
Does the thought of having done this now for 3 years say something to you that may be causing some unexpectedness reflection ?
Well.
I applaud all that you do.
I am glad you have meandered this way.
After years of not doing something like this myself.. may just start something.
65 is coming up in January and times awastin’
???
Have some fun and get unstuck!

If where you are is "stuck," then that’s where you are. Just be there and breathe! We all love what you do and appreciate your candor. Would it be appropriate to tell us of the early stirrings of the fashion sense that ended up in your current state of "Fabuloso?" (Or, we could always share recipes…)
Stuck is just another space in life………..perhaps a cosmic reminder to savor the journey instead of rushing headlong into the future? When I find myself stuck, I try to use that experience to just "be"…………….

Sew, sew and then sew some more. Even if I have nothing in mind to sew, I then just play with the fabrics and let the various patterns and textures inspire me. Stuck is not a bad place, it’s just a moment in time to prepare for the next great adventure/experience.

When I am stuck, I take a long shower. It clears my mind. Have been known to take 10-12 showers in a day. It works

I get up and go do something rather mindless, but needs to be done, like weeding the flower beds or swimming laps in the pool. What I’m looking for eventually comes to me.

When I am stuck I take a glance at your web site 😉
Or I go back to my basics : Carrie Bradshaw, Claire Underwood, Ellen Ripley, Ailise my favorite mare chewing some blades of grass, Simone de Beauvoir, or the Mont Blanc, both cake and mountain. It always helps !
Hi!
To answer your question, I write down whatever comes to mind, to get it out of my mind to clear the space that it’s taking! Then comes the real thing!
Have a nice day and enjoy the moment!

Browse Pinterest for a while Look through the latest fashion color that’s coming out then I shop my closet. Sometimes all it takes is just a few clicks and you see yourself wearing that or doing that. I just went Fall shopping from seeing just a few bloggers and their fashion tips and style. Picked up a few things I would have never worn last year but this year, what the heck I’m going for it. No more blah blah blah, it’s now rah rah rah I look good.

No harm in being stuck. Take it easy and come unstuck in your own time- we’ll wait to hear.

Color. A handful of paint chips shuffled and manipulated into mosaics. Always shakes something loose.

Ok, this may seem strange to some readers, but when I am "stuck," I take a nap! Lucid awakenings occur for me, my emotional defenses melting a bit, and what was unclear becomes clear, anxiety dissipating!

I admit to having been "stuck" for a post many times over the 8 years I’ve had my blog. Usually something comes, and if not, then I would wait until it did. I’ve pared back my blogging to the bare minimum simply because I ended up being "stuck" too many times over the past 6 months.
