Accidental Icon: Three Iconic Girls Part 2

Marsell boots, A.F. Vandervorst black wool pants, illia leather jacket, CDG ruffled bag

Patti Smith’s signature style of collared white shirts, loose black ribbon around her neck, and long jackets worn with peg leg jeans and boots (memorialized by Robert Mapplethorpe on the cover of the album “Horses”) inspired a young Ann Demuelemeester. In recognition of her muse Demeulemeester played the album “Waves” at her first runway show in Paris. As you can see, Patti is my muse in this photo. The ruffled leather bag is my interpretation of the little dose of dark romance that both women inject into their work.

    Thank you for your comment on Style Crone. I think you would look great in a beret, but you have an exquisite eye. Any headwear that you would be attracted to would be perfect. Not everyone is fascinated by hats, and that’s OK too. You have beautiful hair!
