Before getting down to DETAILS, I wanted to thank all of the readers who took the time this week to respond to Monday’s post. I was so moved by the generous, thoughtful and caring comments and suggestions you sent me. I am lucky to have you.

I have a strange question, but wondering about your sandals. They look like leather soles and I’m curious if you get rubber soles/pad put on the bottom of your leather soles to help them last longer. I just bought a fairly expensive pair of sandals with leather soles and not sure if I should spend the extra to get rubber soles pasted onto the bottom. Thanks in advance for your advice! I love your blog!
Your blog is still new, and you are finding your rhythm. It’ll come in time.
One of the reasons so many follow you is because of your scholarly, thorough attitude to your blogging. But that can take it out of you.
It’s all an evolution. Listen to yourself and be gentle to yourself. We all understand.
Loving the colour touch!

Love this look!!
I read your post on Monday but was traveling where there was not enough internet access to post a comment successfully. I still want to chime in that I hope you feel all the love of your blog followers–and feel entitled to give yourself some serious self-care! We want you to stick around for the long haul–you have an important, unique voice and such an incredible sense of style. I know it’s really hard for over-achievers to slow down properly–being one–but then we hit the wall and have no choice. Be kind to yourself. We’ll be waiting if you need a break.

Once you hit a wall, it is time to get to know the bricks. Give yourself some time to refresh and regroup. You will find your stride!
Your blog is a delight…so very astute, stylish and informative! Thank you for the tremendous time and effort displayed here.
Now, give yourself the same!
Sometimes you have to climb the ladder in order to kick it away.
Just today I re-connected to something I took up as a volunteer job some time after "retiring" from working fifty years in fashion. During the last six months I ended up projecting an audience watching me (as I was to mentor some other volunteers, but, then felt strangely beholden to it. When I walked away I think I was looking for something that didn’t exist.
Looking back, I simply needed some time out. My father also died around this time. BUT, today I woke up and out of the blue I returned. But, it will be on somewhat different terms.
With regard to your most amazing blog that I check daily, just in case, I feel some guilt that I have silently enjoyed it from afar, with never a comment, AND, now when I see your comment…….I Panic!
I’m living in Melbourne, Australia and wear quite similar style pieces to you, although I’m wishing I had this great white shirt you’re wearing in my wardrobe!
The very best of luck to you……see where this takes you and maybe just like me you need time out and re-assess.
Love it. You are really having a conversation with that burgundy(or is it maroon) red in the stairwell. I’ve been looking for a resources for more unique white shirts and it’s so hard to find.
You’re backing up from the wall. Those earrings, lipstick and bag are sharing your secrets.
I LOVE your blog, and your style!

I just responded to your call, late, as usual, but I have to say, you are looking pretty darn good in your jeans.

Lovely look, how do you purchase the items if you are interested.. I love that blouse and handbag
So many of my looks are pieces I have had as I tend to recycle and re-wear my clothes. You may need to check on-line consignment or eBay.

The big A-line asymmetric hem white cotton shirt looks so cool and summery, but is so versatile. It looks great worn with jeans, as pictured, but could also ‘subtleise’ and soften edgier things that might be too extreme otherwise. E.g. you could wear cropped, wide-leg ripped/distressed jeans under the shirt, a black sports-bra with black cycling shorts. Cropped broad-striped palazzo pants, or a black PVC mini, or maybe a knee-length soft black leather skirt. In turn the big shirt could be covered up with a full-length, oversized A-line glossy black PU mac.
