So for those of you who have followed me for awhile you know about my level of discomfort with having my photo taken and my tendency for being frozen in the same pose and facial expression. Since I have never taken modeling lessons this is definitely a learn as you go project. Recently I have learned that putting a little action in the photo spices it up, just like life I suppose. So here I am letting go and trying some new and exciting action shots with my hair doing most of the action. I have actually decided to let my hair grow a little because it has been becoming my most interesting prop.
The kudos really goes to Calvin for these shots because he is not shooting with an autofocus lens so you can only imagine the difficulty of getting these shots to be as sharp as they are given that constraint. Just for the record my photos are never retouched before posting. The only problem was that after this shoot I felt like I had whiplash. Oh how we suffer for our art!

What’s your take on growing the hair?
Personally I love the short hair. I think it makes a great "prop" because of its bluntness and asymmetry, plus there’s so many ways to "funk" it up when it’s short.
True and having a Japanese hairstylist who really knows how to cut thick, straight hair is a real bonus.
I know it is hard though if you haven’t learned how to model. Maybe I will take an improv class.
Terrific action shots. As for growing hair longer, if I had your thick hair…oh, yeah! But with fine, straight hair, the best look for me is short and rather boyish. Nothing much to ‘toss’ around. And I absolutely love your choice of clothes. Suits you to a T!

Calvin is getting good with capturing the action. I really do have to say I had a sore neck for a couple of days!

I think experimentation is in any area is compelling. I love the movement and action in these photos. Brava to you and Calvin.

You have to be one of the most intriguing, inspiring icons out there! I would love to see you experiment with a longer hair style. After all, it’s hair and it can be chopped off ~ again. Happy Thursday.
Thanks for your kind comments about the blog. What a great attitude, give it a try and you can always cut it! I too like the possibility of more styling options.
Thanks for the push and for your comment. A good Thursday to you too!

Hi there,
Gosh, I understand what you are saying, most of my life I have hated it if a camera is pointed in my direction. Lately, I have decided it would be rather nice to have a picture of me that shows me smiling; I am not a miserable person, honestly!!
Your style both clothes and hair are impeccable, but I would say grow your hair and see how you feel. Change is good. I am growing out my trademark jaw length bob and am enjoying the endless possibilities of styling longer hair. If the experiment fails I can always cut it again.
Can’t wait to see what fabulous hairstyles you will come up with……………more inspiration for us.
Fantastic blog by the way.

I think it’s good you’ve considered trying new poses, since it can sometimes feel a little monotonous for both blogger and reader to do the same thing with their body everyday in each post without considering I guess the shape and nature of the clothes
