There are just some days when I have to go out that I don’t want to get dressed. Especially lately when the new semester has kicked in, Accidental Icon is busy and family needing more than the usual amount of attention and care. Since becoming somewhat of a public figure as I travel around town (shocking to me, I am usually asked at least once if I am the Accidental Icon), one of the downsides is that I no longer have the luxury of leaving the house looking like a wreck.
And so in this week’s post I succumb to the enduring appeal of pajama dressing. I love the blurred boundaries of inside and/or out, dreaming and/or reality and relaxed and/or dressy. Subliminally influenced by the pajama inspired looks on the Spring 2016 NYFW runways; Public School, Thakoon, Alexander Wang and Givenchy, this look feels the perfect alternative for an accidental fashion icon on the days when I just don’t want to get dressed.
So whether I am playing, working or having a romantic evening out, the nonchalant slouch of pajama dressing suits my current needs, mood and desires.

I love this post! I am forever wanting to look stylish but not having to put a huge amount of effort or thought into what I’m wearing. Such a useful post!

Oh yes I know! Some days I just do not want to think about it and just want to be comfy. Glad you liked the post.
I thought of you when I read your post after also reading this article. I appreciate the way you address the challenges your blog is creating for you as you become more "famous".

It’s so comfy and depending on the fabric can be so luxurious.
Yes, I love mixing things up. I’m practically feral during the summer holidays so pyjama dressing is very appealing.

I would love to see you looking feral, I can’t even imagine it you are so stylish.

Yes, I love wearing sweatpants with heels and a blouse. I always find a way to make the dressed down item/outfit not seem as dressed down as it is.

Creativity at work! Haven’t yet pulled off heels with sweats but it is on my to-do.

Pajama dressing has never looked so chic. I love the shoulder cutouts! You can make any look glamorous!
An honor coming from the Queen of Glamour herself!

Your blur is the bomb. Love it.
Sometimes I have to make a run early in the morning, so I buy these long tank tops which can go from the bedroom right under a jacket. I need more blur in my wardrobe.

Calvin’s awesome, no?

I have always thought I would look sloppy and somehow "ill" in pajama styling, but recently I’ve gotten into it. A mixture of high and low is the key, I think.
