   Another round of similar articles about the supposed rarity of Hermes Birkins. But the reality is a bit different. There are over 140 on potero right now. Another dozen on therealreal. Around a thousand on ebay at any given time, although a large percentage (but certainly not all of them) are fake. (Remember that the author of "Bringing Home the Birkin: My Life in Hot Pursuit of the World’s Most Coveted Handbag", which is a cute book that I own and have read, sold most of his finds on ebay). So, it appears that at any given time, it is quite possible source a Birkin easily, quickly, and perhaps less expensively than shopping at a Hermes boutique.
