Sometimes life seems to feel like an aerial show or being on a merry-go-round. You are in the middle of the tightrope or the merry-go-round does not stop long enough for you to get off. There is a part of you that wants to let go but another part of you that is so dizzy with the stimulation of color, light, sound and smell of a well-lived life, especially when you are taking a risk, that you just keep hanging onto the pole. Regardless of whether you decide to get off or linger awhile, like the dress reformers you need clothing that can breathe and move with you as you are flying through the air. Though I love the sensual look of a corset, it is not practical for the life I actually live. This Victorian style shirt with puffed sleeves has a pseudo corset look but is made of a comfortable stretch fabric with ties on the side. The skinny jeans are of a light material and can stretch as I jump through hoops and over the moon. More form fitting and modern than the “bloomers” the dress reformers advocated these jeans allow me to move through my world at a dizzying pace.
As you can see in the photo below I eventually decided to let go, hop off and take a moment to smell the coffee and the beautiful Fall flowers. A moment of replenishment when one is in it for the long haul.
How do you stay stylish during those times when life is a balancing act and feels like a merry-go-round?
Comfort, comfort, comfort: comfortable jeans & tees & boots & my favorite jacket. Nothing new, nothing too "out there". I almost always choose comfort over style anyway, but especially so when I’m on that merry-go-round & don’t seem to have 5 minutes for myself. Good perfume is always a must, and I will sometimes go a little more dramatic with the eye makeup & earrings because they’re very much "me" & when life is hectic, I need to be as much "me" as possible. Interesting question.

Love this, it is seriously hard to be busy with life each day and look nice.. you can certainly pull of this task though! X

For me, a fantastic haircut speaks, when the fashion style isn’t saying much.
I think your clothes looked really nice, but I cannot see enough of them. Pity. I would have liked to see the blouse and coat in more detail.
As for the merry go round… I am enjoying it. There might be times (ahead) that I think back of these busy times and long for them.

I find when life is busiest is when it’s most important to look and feel great! What I’m wearing and how I feel in it, influences my mood, my confidence and how I interact with others and the challenges that come my way. When I look good, I am, and am perceived as more influential. Research studies have shown that to be true! My wardrobe is specifically chosen to do that for me. Everything goes with everything else for the most part, with just 5 colors. Black, white, grey, blue and olive.
