For some reason the contours of life lately have been dreamy and blurry. I am not sure if it is because the days and weeks are just rushing by or if it is because I am walking around in a kind of dream-like state. Whatever it is, it beats the sharp, tingling edges of stress and anxiety I was feeling in December. The blue in this photo is both vivid and muted at the same time and perfectly reflects my inner state. The color makes my black coat look blacker and my grey hair a translucent white. The long drape of my coat, the sweep of my wide leg pants and the length of my shirt feel like old-fashioned bedclothes and contribute to the feeling that life right now has a kind of magical and pleasantly unreal quality. I am having a delightful dream right now and I am dreaming in color.

Do you ever use color in a way that reflects your inner state?
I love these proportions! I’ve been feeling the need to add a bit of color or playful touches to my outfits lately. Am also feeling a bit less pressure now that we’re through the holidays, and looking forward to some travel we have scheduled.
Lucky you but I will have fun vicariously following your adventures!
Catching up with your blog is like indulging myself in luxury. The photo with blue background and you is breathtaking. Your silhouette inspires me to experiment and your brilliant writing gives us a window into your inner world. A breath of fresh air!
Always so lovely you are! Congratulations on the announcement of a grandchild.

how about a post without sunglasses?
Outstanding billow potential here! The great thing about this outfit is you can wander with great drama as well as sweep down the street with authority. I usually require a little more energy to wear colour. Black is my go-to comfort colour. It’s moody, mysterious, glamorous, bad, and also concealing in many respects for me. Colour (or lack of) informs who I am; at the same time, I also make colour what I want it to be – if that makes sense.
Yes it does and you do it magnificently!
I feel the same. If I reject my intuition in anything I feel off balance.

The color I choose for the day, in the moment, absolutely reflects my inner state. In fact, I find that I cannot resist it. I usually dress in black or charcoal, leaving room to add the color I need to wear via a scarf, shawl, and/or jewelry. One time it might be indigo, at another ruby or aqua. If I try to make myself wear a different color than what I’m drawn to I feel very off balance.
