I always forget what collections were shown for the Spring because the fashion shows occur so far in advance of the actual season. I have actually been rather caught up in some of the new and refreshing ideas that have been presented for Fall 2016. Some of the designers agree with me and will be making their runway calendars more in sync with the actual season. This means clothing will have to be manufactured in advance of the shows, the downside being that emerging designers who often have the freshest and most creative ideas are disadvantaged as they do not have the capital to manufacture before they actual get orders. I will be doing a post soon on what I have learned about the time and expense that goes into making just one sample.
So when the increasing temperatures started to signal that Spring was in fact actually going to occur, I went back and reviewed my favorite collections from SS2016. I saw a multitude of slip dresses and recently have been admiring some of my younger blogging peers in how they are styling them over jeans and shirts. I love the silhouette and sexiness of a slip dress and wearing them over a shirt (it can be a super sheer one too) offers me so many options including the more relaxed look here with one of my favorite white shirts. The big slouchy tops as perfected by Demna Gvasalia and his design collective Vetements are just what I need to slouch towards the Spring. Of course the Japanese are always ahead of the curve. Limi Feu. constructed my beautiful jacket in 2009.

How would you style a slipdress?
This is a fabulous spring look! I just adore it. I have been thinking about slip dresses, and now I am really going to look for one. Thanks for the inspiration, as always!
I had assumed I was too old for this look but now that I have seen it on you I realise it is only a pinafore with narrower straps!-I will definitely make myself one and wear it with a shirt or a mesh long-sleeved T
This is one of my favourite looks; excellent layering and the photos are ace.
