Whenever I want to get into the holiday spirit the first place I go in NYC, even before the store windows, is Rockefeller Center I love walking into the space and seeing people ice-skating and of course the famous tree. There is always music and bells and it just makes me get in the mood for the holiday season no matter what else is going on. I was really pleased when Rockefeller Center NY asked me to partner with them to create a sponsored gift guide
This year as you know I am so busy and I have a large family and a large shopping list. Fortunately for me Rock Center not only gives me the spirit but it has over 100 stores all in close proximity making it easy to cross people off my list in one afternoon trip. The stores range from designer to NYC souvenirs to luggage to chocolate.
For this trip I wanted to focus on the three most incredible women and girl I know: my sister, my daughter and my granddaughter. The only problem when you shop for other fashionable and cool people is you also find many things that you actually like for yourself. Well I have worked hard this year…
My granddaughter shares my love for the dramatic and quirky so for her I choose a Tiffany Sterling Silver Bubble blower and the Everyday Objects Bone China Paper Cup (and I get the Gold Hardwear Ball ring).
My sister shares my love of sunglasses but is a little more conservative so she gets the Celine cat eyes from Studio Optix. (and for me the Pugnale Visione to add to my statement sunglass collection).
My classy, professional daughter reminds me of a Michael Kors woman and so for her the Bancroft snake-skin shoulder strap bag. What can I say but no way can I resist the studded stretch crepe suit for myself.
So if you are on the hunt for a quintessential NYC Holiday experience and need to get some items checked off your list make sure you stop by Rockefeller Center, the place that has it all.
Nothing like having fun and accomplishing your tasks! Great job! You look fab doing it too!!!
Stunning! I am so one with you. At 64, I am still loving fashion and thoroughly enjoy the art of clothing .
Luv the snake bag, and your earrings. ?
I’m new to your blog today. I found you on a facebook video. Your passion and spirit shines through in your writing. It’s a joy to read, from someone who has a very boring wardrobe. You are a daily work of art sculpture walking around and being true to yourself. Beautiful.
Tiffany’s is out of my budget, but I do enjoy anyone enjoying anything. I do have a pair of soft white sunglasses from the 50’s, cat eye ones. There was a 50’s dress up party with my friends one year, I kept the glasses they are cool. I go to second hand stores in my area. If I had my way I would have a large closet with just jacket and coats of all kinds.
You are inspiring. You’ve got me dreaming. Cheers!
I first saw a post about you several weeks ago & have rediscovered you today. I applaud you for wearing whatever the hell you want to wear regardless of what anyone else may opine. I am about your age & still enjoy wearing what I call "rock n’ roll" outfits when I have a gig. Your confidence is bolstering my own & I intend to "pay it forward" & set an example for other ladies around here (Bismarck, ND). It feels good to remember to be a bit of a rebel- thank you for your inspiration & have a wonderful Christmas!
You are truly an inspiration. To quit concerning myself with what everyone thinks. Such a waste. Love NY and seeing the streets again
Your hair looks fabulous!
The "BANCROFT SNAKE-SKIN SHOULDER STRAP BAG"… I covet!!

Exceptional post however I was wondering if you could write a litte more on this topic?
I’d be very thankful if you could elaborate a little bit
more. Many thanks!
You are such a refreshingly true inspiration as an anti-aging agent!
I, too, see the ‘look at me’ attraction of the newly unveiled Hudson Yards as an anti-NYC gesture…of a city that never needed to show&tell, let alone prove to itself (or anyone lese) how naturally cool it already was…just by the meer means of remaining stealthly low-key & under the radar.
Thank you for all that you do…and are, Lyn!

Thank you for that lovely description of NYC.
I saw you on Go Daddy and my heart skipped a beat! I love your attitude and style. I turn 65 in May. I just lost my husband and am ready to reinvent myself for my own sake. You inspire me.
Sorry for your loss. However happy that you see the opportunity to reinvent.
I just saw the ad for Go Daddy and you caught my interest. Your website rocks! I am 69 and I love fashion. You look fabulous!
Just discovered you today. I’m not a fashion kind of person, but you truly are inspiring. Rock On !!!
I “accidentally” discovered your website. You have confirmed my belief that we do not have to give up on style at any age. My challenge now is finding the locations to shop for style.
Love your style! Following for hints for this 65 year old who needs to be more put together!
Thank you! For being you. If you can see it, you can believe it. Thanks! for showing its not a point A to point B thing. It’s an incredible journey life, no matter the age, it’s how you thing and feel. You’re inspirational.
Love this blog!
Such an inspiring woman!
You are my style hero. Also, my husband proposed to me at the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree
